I’m back in Michigan after a week long Miami vacation with my boyfriend and I’m already missing the sun, warm breeze, palm trees and ocean. I’m going to write a separate post covering all the yummy food we ate but I definitely wanted to recommend our hotel first. We stayed at The Albion, and it was amazing. Perfect location, not over-priced, fabulous bar and happy hour, the MOST COMFORTABLE beds, and a beautiful pool, lobby and courtyard. We were having such a great time we actually extended our trip one day! The front desk was helpful when we asked to stay an extra night and they provided a private car to the airport for the same fare as the standard taxi.
We had room 507 and it was AMAZING! These beds are honestly soooooooooo comfortable. I cannot state it enough times. You will sleep like a baby.We could see the Ocean from our room and the street below us stayed lit up all night, but we loved it. Had such a South Beach vacation feel.If you can, request room 507. It’s a corner room with amazing windows
Our room was really spacious. We had a bed, desk, couch, coffee table, walk-in closet and mini-fridge. The bathroom was small but updated and this might be weird but the water pressure was amazing! House keeping was great and brought new towels everyday without us having to ask.The entire hotel has been redone and the lobby is so lovely
The pool is set above the court yard. No pool hours so we made sure to swim before bed each night. There was also a lounge area set slightly above the pool with additional seating and tables. So you basically had a bar, lobby, courtyard, pool and sun deck. The bar inside the hotel is called Repour and you can bring your drinks outside into the courtyard if you’d like. TIP: The bar is open till 3 am! The courtyard is gorgeous at night. Even though you are in the middle of busy South Beach you feel completely secluded when you sit out here.Happy Hour was from 5-8 everyday. The cocktails were handcrafted, beautiful and so delicious. My boyfriend just had beers but I recommend the fancier drinks 🙂 This bar was such a nice addition to the hotel. And the courtyard was just as pretty during the day!The Albion is about a block’s walk to the beach. Shouldn’t take you more than 5 minutes. The hotel allows you to rent out their beach chairs and umbrellas but we just brought our own towels. This is a great swimming beach. The sand is soft and no rocks or sea weed. The Albion is also about a 7 minute walk from Ocean Drive. There is a beach path you can take or you can walk the main street. You are so close to all of the famous Art Deco hotels and restaurants but at a much better price. Also just a few minutes walk from this lovely park that sits between Ocean Drive and the actual Ocean <3
You honestly couldn’t ask for a better location or price. There was no resort fee and free wi-fi, although I didn’t get a very good signal from our room. The second floor offered breakfast for a decent price and there was also free coffee. Location wise you had tons of stores and restaurants as soon as you walked outside, Miami Beach Duck Tours left from right in front of the hotel, bikes were available to rent directly across the street and yet once you stepped inside the hotel you felt totally removed from all the bustle and noise on the street. If you are looking for a boutique hotel in South Beach with lots of character I highly recommend The Albion. I hope I can come back to visit soon!

Our sister also visited Miami a few months back and reviewed The Broken Shaker, a cute hipster bar in the area. You can read her post here
