Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and it falls on a Friday this year – so get those reservations booked! It’s going to be a busy night to for love in Detroit!
We’ve put together a list of restaurants we would love to spend date night with our significant other. There are so many great options around the Detroit area though, make sure to let us know where YOU want to spend date night with your love!
San Morello
We can’t deny that San Morello has our hearts. The decor, the mood, the amazing service, and most importantly THE FOOD! We could simply order the Sheep’s milk ricotta with hot honey & garlic and call it a day. However, it’s Valentine’s Day so at least order a few cocktails and pasta with your actual honey. This is also a two for one because we highly suggest heading downstairs when you’re done and checking out Shinola Hotel’s Evening Bar. You’ll find amazing drinks and we recommend ordering and sharing the Herb Fries. Nothing is more romantic in our book than potatoes.
You can find San Morello at: 1400 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48226

Maru Sushi
A little wine, a little sushi, maybe some dessert? Maru, located in downtown Detroit is perfect for a Valentine’s Day date! Its cozy interior is perfect for an intimate meal. If your partner isn’t gaga over sushi, they do have some other options like teriyaki glazed chicken and hibachi!
You can find Maru Sushi here: 160 W Fort St, Detroit, MI 48226

London Chop House
London Chop House is a Detroit staple and perfect for a more traditional Valentine’s Date night out. The food is always outstanding here and you can’t beat their desserts. Start your meal with Oysters Rockefeller, move onto Filet Mignon and end your meal with the LCH Gold Brick Sundae! Last we checked reservations are still open for early evening so check their website ASAP!

Magnet Detroit
Magnet is a newer Detroit restaurant. If you haven’t been there yet, Valentine’s Day might be the perfect excuse. They focus on elevating simple ingredients to a new level with just two pieces of cooking equipment, one grill and one oven. It’s a unique and delicious dining experience for a special night out!

Sounds like the perfect Valentine’s Day to me!

Highlands Detroit
We haven’t made it to Detroit’s new rooftop restaurant but reviews have been great and you won’t be able to beat the view! Highlands is located at the top of the RenCen and features Steaks, Seafood, Small Plates, and a Raw Bar. We doubt any reservations are open Valentine’s Day weekend but if you celebrate earlier in the week you may be able to get a table! It’s sister restaurant also at the top of the RenCen, Hearth71 takes walk-ins.
You can find Highlands Detroit here: 400 Renaissance Center Floors 71 & 72 Detroit, MI 48243

The Peterboro
We love the vibe of The Peterboro and is there anything more romantic than sharing a plate of dumplings with the one you love? It’s a casual spot with great decor, cocktails, wine and one of our favorite food categories, Chinese. Our favorite dishes for sharing are the Veggie Fried Rice, Dumplings, and Lo Mein.

May I suggest pizza and Netflix? Jet’s is my all-time fave Detroit Style pizza and they offer Heart Shaped pies for Valentine’s Day!
