This past week we enjoyed an amazing meal at one of Michigan’s local farms. Ankley Family Farm is a centennial farm founded in 1902. It has continually operated since then raising livestock and crops.
The farm is currently home to a grogeoys sunflower trail, picturesque scenery and u-pick flower gardens. It is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday!
During our visit we were able to connect with other local farmers, learn more about Michigan Soy Beans, create a cocktail using Michigan made spirits and enjoy an amazing farm to table dinner.
Michigan is home to more than 300 fresh, great-tasting foods and products and is the second most agriculturally diverse state in the nation. Learning about the abundance and variety of food our Michigan farmers provide us was such a fun and unique experience! More than 46,000 local farmers call Michigan home!
For dessert we were able to enjoy some amazing ice cream from Bay City Ice Cream shop Cream & Sugar!
As food bloggers we get to enjoy so much amazing food, but this event reminded us how important it is to learn where your food is coming from! Support local farmers when you can, they do so much for our state and grow some of the most delicious food you will find!
