Girls Gone Hungry’s Picks for Valentine’s Day 2018

Stumped on where to go for Valentine’s Day this year? We have you covered! Check out the list below to see our favorite spots for February 14th.

  1. Public House (Ferndale) – Honestly there isn’t a list we could make that wouldn’t include this gem of a restaurant, but here is why we think it’s a good fit for Valentine’s Day: It’s hip, there is low lighting, fabulous drinks, and good music. The menu prices are reasonable, and most dishes are small plates so you can order a bit of everything and share!
You’re going to be full O_O
  2. Maggiano’s Little Italy (Troy) – If you order the Marco’s Meal for Two you’ll be set! With the deal you get a starter or 2 salads, 2 classic pasta dishes, dessert, and even 2 pasta meals to take home for a mere $43.95.  Not bad! As for as ambiance you cannot go wrong with Maggiano’s. It’s a classic date venue. We recommend making a reservation.
  3.  Chapman House (Rochester) –  We LOVE Chapman house. It’s more affordable than you might think! The gorgeous exterior of this building can be intimidating, but you can order a 6 Oz Cover Crop Ranch Burger for $16.  As far as atmosphere,  this place is a dream.  Currently you can have drinks and apps in an outdoor igloo decorated with whimsical string lights. You can’t go wrong here, folks!
  4. Cliff Bell’s (Detroit) – This is a great pick if you want to add a little zest to your date. Cliff Bell’s is famous for their live jazz music. How romantic to have dinner in a low lit room while the piano plays in the background.  Here you’re looking to spend $20 – $50/person on your entree. It’s worth it!
  5. Bistro 82 (Royal Oak) –  If quality of food is what you’re after this just may be your best bet. Bistro 82 won the Hour Detroit 2017 Restaurant of the Year award.  The Filet Mignon is $39.00 but worth every penny.
  6. Iridescence (Detroit) – Located at the top floor of the Motor City Casino this place may remind you of beautiful seashell upon first look.  Floating light orbs that are reminiscent  of bubbles hang from the ceiling, and an iridescent side panel lines the wall along side the kitchen. The view of the Detroit skyline is unbeatable, the food second to none, and the service is impeccable. Between drinks, apps, and the entrees you’ll probably spend around $300 for two.  If you really want to make a statement, this is the place.
