If you’re looking for the best happy hour in Metro Detroit, look no farther than Maru Sushi in Detroit, Michigan! This sushi restaurant is serving up traditional Japanese cuisine with a modern twist. If the delicious menu wasn’t enough to draw us in, the promise of a new happy hour had us running to grab a table!
Happy hour applies to dine-in only and runs from 4 PM-6 PM on Monday through Friday. It includes:
- $8 glasses house wine
- $8 house liquor
- $5/$8 house sake (small/large)
- $6 edamame
- $6 tofu
- $6 chicken gzoya
- and 15% off select signature rolls including crouching tiger, Madagascar, cosmo, nirvana, ex-girlfriend, soy joy, crazy salmon, papa crema, and boogie veggie.
We enjoyed a mix of happy hour specials as well as regular menu items and had the best time!
First, we tried a happy hour glass of wine and a regular menu cocktail. The sake sangria was light and refreshing, the perfect way to start our meal!
For our next course, we tried the tofu and chicken gzoya, both items on the happy hour menu. The tofu was crispy and flavorful. Perfect for our vegetarian friends, but anyone would love it! The chicken gzoya had just the right amount of crunch!
Fried rice with cauliflower followed. Not only was this dish beautiful, but it was mouthwatering good!
For sushi we tried the boogie veggie and ex-girlfriend roll. Both are part of the Happy Hour Menu! They were amazing. We almost had BOTH plates clean by the end of the dinner but told ourselves we needed to save room for dessert.
Which lead us to the most delectable dessert we’ve ever had the good fortune to devour, the Red Velvet Crème Brûlée. Chefs kiss!
We had a great time with Maru Sushi in Detroit, and the food couldn’t have been better. We highly suggest this restaurant for sushi lovers and those looking for a great happy hour option in Detroit, Michigan! The service is always impeccable and you’ll love the vibe!
