Side Piece Detroit isn’t serving up your Grandma’s hot dogs. Does a dog wrapped in puff dough peak your interest? How about one topped with pork rinds and fermented jalapeno sauce? These are just a few of the unique items you can find on Side Piece Detroit’s menu, one that rotates every week. The pop-up can be found on Wednesdays after 5PM inside Corktown’s Slows BBQ.
Each hot dog is $5. And good news for our vegetarian friends, you can substitute a veggie dog for no extra charge!
We ventured out to Corktown this week to see what all the buzz was about. We ordered the “Let’s Do Another Stallion” topped with chipotle crema, avocado, and jalapeno poppers.
We also tried “Weiner Taco” which replaces a bun with a tortilla and is topped with lettuce, tomato, chihuahua cheese and tomatillo sour cream.
Athough connected to Slows, the pop-up has it’s own entrance. We loved the hot dog comic decor.
Word on the street is that the Slows/Side Piece duo is running through the fall. We highly recommend you visit before it’s over!
